Alyn Hansen

ALYN HANSEN, MT (ASCP):  Ms. Hansen has been in the medical laboratory field for over 30 years, either in supervisory or administrative director positions.  Ms. Hansen is a Quality Assurance expert.

As an NMG Quality Systems Consultant, Ms. Hansen’s projects include regulatory compliance initiatives, implementing Quality Management systems, and performing quality assessment audits.  These and other projects involve laboratory consolidation feasibility studies and implementation planning, laboratory operations assessment, and laboratory information workflow studies.

Ms. Hansen specializes in crisis management for labs sanctioned by CMS and uses a high level of knowledge, experience and organization to guide the staff towards compliance.  Quality assessments and mock inspections are conducted as a learning experience for the laboratory staff.  Reports are designed to form the basis from which progress can be measured, and include specific recommendations for immediate changes and suggestions for improving the inspection process and any Quality issues observed.

Prior to NMG, Ms. Hansen’s hospital laboratory experience includes positions as Laboratory Administrative Director at Port St. Lucie Hospital in Florida, and Assistant Lab Administrator at Delray Community Hospital in Delray, Florida.  Her professional affiliations and credentials include membership in the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Management Association, and a Florida State Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license.  Her publications include the 2007 edition of CLIA Compliance Handbook, The Essential Guide for the Clinical Laboratory.

Ms. Hansen received her B.S. in Biology at Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as a certification in Medical Technology.
